The Abomination cannot embark alongside the religious hero classes, who are the Crusader, Leper, Vestal and Flagellant. Note that whether his companions are actually religious or not doesn't change anything, so a Faithless Vestal will refuse to work with him and a God-Fearing Highwayman will have no issue.
Combat Skills[edit | edit source]
Beaten, branded and imprisoned for untold decades, this furtive vagrant hides a terrible secret. The Eldritch poison coursing through his veins has given him unspeakable power, at a terrible cost. As his form changes, so too does his role in combat!
| ~ Guild
The Abomination has two different sets of abilities, which changes whenever he switches forms using Transform. Transforming into Beast form does not count as an action, allowing the Abomination to Transform and use another Skill on the same turn. Upon Transforming back into Human form, Transform cannot be used again for the duration of the battle. If the Abomination is in Beast form when a battle ends, he automatically transforms back to Human mode. Additionally, he will return to human mode if he suffers an Affliction while in beast form.

Camping Skills[edit | edit source]
The Abomination spends his restful moments lost in the myriad symptoms of his condition. Pulse-pounding self-buffs provide opportunities for even greater effectiveness in the next melee, while concentrating on suppressing his terrible impulses can alleviate some of the party's apprehension.
| ~ Survivalist
Camping skills are special skills heroes can use during the Camp Phase of a dungeon. They take a certain number of "respite" points to use, and can only be used once per camp (unless the skill says otherwise). Most heroes have three shared camping skills and all heroes have 4 camping skills unique to them. Only 4 of these can be equipped at one time. Any Buffs or lasting effects given from a camping skill lasts for 4 battles.
The Abomination's camping skills grant him powerful buffs or healing his companions's stress, but generally at the cost of extra stress for himself.

Equipment[edit | edit source]
Protected by cursed chains and a thick, leathery hide, the Abomination can withstand the pressures of frontline combat as well as any plated footman. His terrible claws are each the size of daggers, and his progressive mutation manifests in unspeakable strength, speed, and a profusion of bile.
| ~ Blacksmith
Unlike other games, equipment upgrades in Darkest Dungeon are linear, all bought at the Blacksmith.
Each Hero has trinkets unique to them that only they can equip. The Abomination has seven; 2 uncommon, 2 Crimson Court and 1 common, rare and very rare. In the base game, his trinkets are all padlocks. The Crimson Court DLC adds a cloak and chain.
|Trinket Image||Trinket Name||Rarity||Class Restriction||Origin Dungeon||Effect||Additional Notes|
|Lock of Patience||Common||Abomination||
|Padlock of Transference||Uncommon||Abomination||
|Lock of Fury||Rare||Abomination||
|Restraining Padlock||Very Rare||Abomination||
The Crimson Court DLC added special Trinket Sets, two for each hero. They confer powerful bonuses to the hero equipped with them and having both equipped at once yields an additional bonus, which is shown greyed out at the bottom. The origin dungeon for all Trinket Sets is the Courtyard and they all have the rarity Crimson Court.
District Bonus[edit | edit source]
The gold cost of most Districts in Radiant Mode is significantly reduced. The price in Radiant mode is shown in parentheses.
|Outsiders Bonfire||2 additional Respite Points if you have at least one Abomination, Hellion or Leper in your party.|
Customisation[edit | edit source]
As for any hero, the Abomination has four different possible colour palette, ranging from brown to red to two different shades of green.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The Abomination hero class was designed by Josh Lauer, a Lord-Tier Kickstarter backer.
- Josh Lauer is a fan of werewolves, and that is where the idea of the abomination came from.
- The name of the Abomination's highest level armor, Inhuman Bondage, is also the name of the patch that he was added in.
- Based on some of his barks, before his mutation the Abomination spent time as a scientist and in a monastery.
- In the third mission of the "Darkest Dungeon" when the party gets teleported by a white cell into a safe spot while Abomination is in his beast form the abomination remains in his current form showing no steeping animations outside the battle and no stress damage from his form while walking through corridors. It has been proven that camping does not remove his beast form, but he is shown as a human during camping, because it was not predicted that he can seat in there as a beast. It is a high probability that the reason of a glitch was that the developers were making teleportation skill in a hurry.
- If the Abomination transforms into his beast form, than returns manually as a human and exits to menu or the game and returns the transformation can be used again.
