Strong drink, a game of chance, and companionship. The rush of life.
~ The Narrator
Tavern
The Tavern is one of the Buildings in the Hamlet where you allow your Heroes to relieve Stress.

Upgrading the Tavern increases the types of stress treatments and their effectiveness.
Each visit comes with a 37.5% chance of a side effect, which can be either positive or negative.
Detrimental non-quirks (ie. double vision, sluggishly and exhausted) will remain with the character until they are taken on a mission.

Treatment Quirks[edit | edit source]

There are certain Quirks a hero can receive that affect the way they relieve stress in town. Most either prevent them from an activity or force them into a certain one. The only exception to this is Nymphomania, which improves stress relief in the Brothel.

Treatment Quirks
Bar Tippler In town, will only visit the Bar for stress relief Resolution In town, will never Drink. They will not enter the bar for stress relief
Gambling Hall Gambler In town, will only Gamble for stress relief Known Cheat Is not allowed to visit the Gambling Hall
Brothel Love Interest In town, will only visit the Brothel for stress relief Deviant Tastes Is not allowed to visit the Brothel
Nymphomania +20% Stress Heal from using Brothel

Gambling[edit | edit source]

Sending heroes to the Gambling Hall is, in essence, the player choosing to gamble. The hero may lose the player some gold or a trinket, but they also may come back with extra gold or a new trinket.

Trinkets lost can be of any rarity from Very Common to Very Rare, and the trinket that is lost is normally selected at random. However, if the hero is equipped with a trinket when they go to gamble, that will be the item lost (if any).

The positive quirk Skilled Gambler improves the odds of winning (unknown amount); the negative quirk Bad Gambler increases the odds of losing resources (unknown amount).

  • During the "Bumper Crop" event a farmer and his wife will apear at the ancestor's statue in poses that reference the painting "American Gothic" by Grant Wood.
