Tactical Analysis[ | ]
Using a Musketeer[ | ]
The Musketeer has several differences in skills that distinguish her from the Arbalest. Her Skeet Shot is a lot less useful than Illuminating Flare - while it still purges Stealth, it doesn't clear Marks, Stuns or Debuffs and instead provides mild Stress relief and a couple of party-wide buffs. This makes it a lot more situational and thus is not as widely used. Patch Up differs from Battlefield Bandage by increasing the healing received, and requires the Tincture of Iodine to be able to cure Blight. Smokescreen applies an ACC and CRIT debuff to interrupt the backliners - pair it with other skills like the Plague Doctor's Blinding Gas and the enemy backline can be rendered completely helpless.
Because the Musketeer's support skills are less powerful than the Arbalest's, many choose to use the Musketeer as a more damage-focused version of the Arbalest and a more proactive Marker. A team using both the Musketeer and Arbalest would have both units' healing skills as a means of dealing with enemy DoTs easily. However, it suffers from the inability to mark or shoot the enemy front line, and needs adequate frontal damage to compensate.
Fighting a Musketeer[ | ]
The Musketeer has less potent support so she's not as big a problem to a Mark or Stun team as an Arbalest. However, they would be acting more aggressively and her ranged damage is not to be underestimated. If anyone gets Marked, you would have to either clear it, defend them (an effort nullified by Iron Sights) or force the Musketeer to do anything but attack. If she's the only healer on the team, forcing other party members to Death's Door may distract her from securing a Deathblow on the marked member. You can also pull her to the front and force her to retreat with Buckshot.
