The sorcerers and religious leaders of the eerie Pelagics, the Pelagic Shamans are just as hostile as the other ancient dwellers of the ocean and the Cove, and is a terrible foe in its own right. Instead of relying on brute force to defend their sacred waters, the Shamans use both ancient knowledge and powers bestowed upon them by their oceanic deity to strengthen their allies, and rend the minds of their enemies enough to drive any poor unfortunate soul in earshot of their guttural gibberish insane.

They also perform human sacrifices during certain phases of the moon, before feasting on what remains after their god has been appeased. But when their oceanic kin bring sacrifices that are already deceased- usually drowned sailors or those otherwise unworthy for the offering- the Pelagic Shamans turn these bloated corpses into Drowned Thralls.

It is also believed that these vile fishmen and their dark rituals had some hand in the creation of the Pelagic Guardian, the Ucas, and possibly many other weird and twisted sea creatures.

Behavior[edit | edit source]

The Pelagic Shaman is an Eldritch type that appears in the Cove. It is the stress dealer of the Pelagic monsters and with their Stress Wave it can hit two heroes at once. It also has the ability to heal their allies with Sea Breeze, a rare ability amongst the hordes of horrors you face. They may also buff their pelagic brethren with Call of the Deep. They can't use their magic in the first position however, as they are forced to use their weak Ceremonial Cut. It focuses on causing stress and casting positive magic on its team. However, aside from a high bleed resistance (like most other monsters in the Cove), its resistances are overall poor, making it vulnerable to DOT and debuffs.
