The Health Bar is the Character's HP allotment in Darkest Dungeon. When a character runs out of HP, they will enter the Death's Door state.
Base HP can be increased with Armor.
Every time a hero enters Death's Door the Stress Bars of all your party members will increase.
Various class skills can heal HP during combat, but only Food is able to heal adventurers outside of combat.
There are Trinkets which increase or decrease the Death Blow chance.
